Is Trump Our Last hope?

Occasionally, I receive comments that are worthy of having their own posts as replies.  Here, I attempted to comfort a reader in despair.  Unfortunately, what I have written is not very comforting.

If Hillary wins, we will never have another Republican President again. Immigration will take care of that and provide a permanent Democrat majority.
Kiss the the second amendment good bye, and begin to accept a permanent second class status as we atone for years of so called "white privilege". You will never receive another earned promotion again in your lifetime, your children will be serfs and spat upon by third world barbarians.

I don't know if you are much of a Star Wars fan or not, but our current  situation reminds me of scene below-

It would be great if Trump at least gets the chance to save our country, but even if he does, there is no guarantee that he will succeed.  He's merely the best chance we have right now.

A storm, the likes of which no one has ever seen, is heading our way in the form of a major economic downturn that make the Great Depression look the minor market correction we had this January.
I give Trump somewhere around a 5 to 10% chance of steering us clear of it.  I believe that anyone else has a 0% chance of doing the same.  In a nutshell, this is why I support Trump.

So, what if Trump fails or never even gets the chance to succeed?  What then?  Well, one possible outcome is certainly what you described in your comment, but don't count on it.  The outcome that you predict, depends upon liberalism becoming the dominant political philosophy of both our electorate and elected officials.  At this point, that may seem inevitable, but consider the following:

The saying goes, "It's an ill wind that blows no good", and that's true even with massive storm that's currently brewing on the horizon.  As long as I already referred to a movie, allow me mention another.

Have you ever watched "The Road Warrior" (or any other post-apocalyptic type movie, for that matter)?  What do they all have in common?  The answer is:  The absence of  luxury.  What is a luxury?  In simplest terms, a luxury is something that costs more without necessarily providing any additional value. -  A Chevy will do just about anything, every bit as effectively as a Cadillac

When you get down to it, liberalism is really just a luxury.  It costs more money, but never produces better results than with conservatism.  Now, think about the history of mankind, where in the first 99.999% of human existence, luxuries, as we know them today were either unheard of or could have never been afforded by the common man.

Did people complain about white privilege during the Great Depression?  Did cowboys worry about having transgender restrooms in the saloons?  Did the knights in the middle ages care about micro-aggressions?  The answer to all these questions is NO, and it isn't because the people were meaner or less caring in the past.  It's because people had only enough income and wealth to take care of themselves and their immediate families.   They simply didn't have enough money to buy themselves a clear conscience by simply throwing it at problems (either real or perceived) whether they actually solved them, didn't, or even made them worse.

If and when the storm hits, liberalism will be the first thing to be swept away.  People simply will not stand for what's left of their hard earned wealth to be taken away to be spent on causes they don't agree with.  Not when they're worried about how they are going to survive themselves.

Trump is not our last chance.  He's only our last chance to be saved by a leader.  If he never gets the chance to save our country, or if he fails, we will just have to save it ourselves.  In the wake of the storm, there will be a temporary void of all political ideologies because the general populous will consider them all to be failures.  Anarchy will prevail.  At that point, our highest duty will be to prevent the rise of tyranny and assure that the forces (liberalism, big government, globalism, central banking, etc) that threaten our freedom and caused the storm in the first place, never raise their heads again.

  1. Hey Neil;

Your poster in my mind is correct, It will start as he says, then the people will get pissed, and even more once the economy tanks and all these "navel lint gazers" will be in a fight to survive day to day, a lot of the special snowflakes will perish in the maelstrom that will follow.

    1. Sometimes, I think that all the fuss this election cycle is just a distraction designed to keep people from noticing how close we are getting to an economic collapse.

  2. We have to look at things from for the long view. Realistically, unless Congress gets on board, there is not much anyone can do to fix anything. It is very telling though that major allegedly 'GOP' oligarchs are coming out in support of Hillary. That's all you need to know about the system.

If Hildebeast wins, we can only hope that any Republican governor worth anything will stand up to any further federal intrusions she may promulgate.

Here is a libertarian Trump supporter. Be forewarned, he makes a free use of F bombs to make his point.

    1. I believe that in order to stop Hillary, we must first defuse the anti-Trump movement.
