Fast Food Employees: Trust Me, This Isn't Going to Turn Out the Way You Hope it Will

Wage Strikes Planned at Fast-Food Outlets in 100 Cities

By STEVEN GREENHOUSE

Seeking to increase pressure on McDonald’s, Wendy’s and other fast-food restaurants, organizers of a movement demanding a $15-an-hour wage for fast-food workers say they will sponsor one-day strikes in 100 cities on Thursday and protest activities in 100 additional cities.

OK, fast food-wannabe-union-idiots,
I know that you don’t have the attention span or reading comprehension to handle anything over two paragraphs, so I’m going to make this really simple.

There are only two possible outcomes of your stupid strike:
  1. You will lose. (most likely outcome)  You will not only fail to get what you want, but it will be a black mark against you, making it all that much harder for you to receive raises or promotions in the future.
  2. You will “win”. (Highly unlikely) In this case, sales will plummet, staff will be cut, and management will demand that you do more with less. (fellow employees)  You will be scrambling around trying to do the work of two people, and things that you now take for granted, like free food and uniforms, and flexible schedules will be things of the past.  Things that used to be considered minor policy violations will be grounds for termination.  The line of people waiting to take your $15/hr. job will stretch from here to the horizon.  Management will no longer put up with any of your shit, because they will be able to replace you before you even walk out the door.

  1. They live in the moment...They won't realize the consequences of their actions until its to late...They will then blame someone else for being kicked out on their ass...

    1. I cannot believe that so many people do not understand economics. They claim to want more money, but they vote for people who make an increase of living standards for the country as a whole, impossible.

    2. Its not just economics its everything...If its of actual value they don't want to know anything about it...Now if its entertainment or some other nonsense they know all about it...Sad what our country has descended in too...Everyone says local local local problem is our local will always be smaller than the takers local...We need to start migrating to where we have the best chance of surviving the coming chaos....Everyone has a different idea though of where the best chance is...

  2. Hey Neil;

    Very True, There is an addendum to this...If they work at a "at will" state, they could find themselves terminated. Obama's union(The SIEU) is stirring them up. THey are promised a "living wage" We;; the last time I checked, the minimum wage is a "starting" wage" it is something that teenagers use to get a start in the workforce. It is not to live on or support a family. If you are working at minimum wage, don't start a family, you can't take care of them. The unions want this because there a rule, I think the Davis-Bacon act. That their membership wages are keyed to the minimum wage. And the SIEU is a government union so there is none of the economic pressure to keep the wage competitive. All they have to do is negotiate a raise with their favorite politician ..and the taxpayers get bent over...again. The SIEU also gets a increase in dues.

    1. You are correct. Even FDR knew that government employees should be allowed to unionized.

  3. Members of the SEIU should be receiving daily doses of lead poisoning for the crimes they've committed, esp since 2008.
