If Given the Chance, Science Would Discredit Liberalism

If I were to ask you to come up with some examples of good ideas off the top of your head, you would probably come up with recent useful inventions, like the smartphone and other electronic devices.

Whatever it was that you came up with, I’m sure that it was something that was willingly accepted by people.
If something has to be forced upon people, how good an idea can it be?

Western Washington University Strives to be Less White

Apparently, diversity is much more important than academics. Good grades and student achievements… Who cares about those things?
Kaitlyn Schallhorn of Campus Reform reported.

University calls the amount of white people on campus a ‘failure,’ asks for ideas on how to have fewer

school-wide questionnaire at Western Washington University (WWU) asked the community “How do we make sure that in future years ‘we are not as white as we are today?’”
The question, released through the communications and marketing department’s daily newsletter Western Today, comes on the heels of admonishments given in multiple convocation addresses by WWU President Bruce Shepard for the university’s “failure” to be less white.
“Every year, from this stage and at this time, you have heard me say that, if in decades ahead, we are as white as we are today, we will have failed as university,” Shepard said in the 2012 speech.
And in a recent blog post on WWU’s website, Shepard echoes these sentiments, saying those who do not agree “have not thought through the implications of what is ahead for us or, more perniciously, assume we can continue unchanged.”
“In the decades ahead, should we be as white as we are today, we will be relentlessly driven toward mediocrity; or, become a sad shadow of our current self,” he wrote.

Far be it from me to say that this is a bad idea, but I think it’s only right and fair that we apply a little science to it.

WWU President Bruce Shepard expects us all to take for granted that having a large white majority of students and staff at a university is a bad thing.  Maybe he’s right, who knows?

There’s only one way to even come close to proving whether he is right or not.  We need to conduct an experiment, and in order to make it meaningful, we need a control.

I have no problem with WWU doing whatever they want, as long as we allow a number of other colleges and universities to forgo the forced diversity thing, and then see which group of colleges and students do better.

Do you think that any liberals in academia would be willing to allow such an experiment to be conducted?  Of course not, they want forced diversity at all of our colleges and universities, and that indicates two things:
  1. They are quite confident that the control groups would outperform the groups introduced to forced diversification .
  2. They are not confident in using the results of scientific observation as the primary factor in determining policies.  (So they can just quit with the whole global warming thing right now.)

I (and I assume most other conservatives) would be willing to extend this scientific experimentation beyond the academic world.  Let’s extend it to other things.

How about if we ran a few experiments to find out what worked best in government?   What if we let the the people of states and localities decide what tax money should be spent upon, and how much regulation they need?  Surely we would end up seeing a diversity of tax rates and regulations across this country and diversity is a good thing, right?  If people didn’t like paying for others to sit on their asses, and agencies like the EPA telling them what kind of light bulbs they could buy, they could move to an area where that didn’t occur.  If people want to be supported by the government for their entire lives, they could move where that was possible.

We all know that this is never going to happen either, because all of the productive members of society would move to the areas to greater freedom and lower taxation, while all the freeloaders would move to the more socialist areas.

The reason that these experiments will never be conducted is because everyone already knows what the outcomes will be.  In other words everyone already knows that liberalism and socialism are failures (including and especially, the liberals and socialists, themselves) and the only way they can be sustained is through force.

Control means one thing to a scientist conducting an experiment, but it means something quite different to a liberal.
